When does La Liga return?
More than 3 months after the unprecedented shutdown caused by COVID-19, La Liga is set to make a comeback starting June 11th. The game that marks the return of the Spanish first division will be the local derby of Seville between Betis and Sevilla.
It’s going to be an action-packed Matchday, with one match on Thursday, two on Friday, four on Saturday, and three on Sunday.
Current leaders Barcelona will travel to the sunny island of Mallorca while Real Madrid, who sit two points behind them, will host Eibar.
Still all to play for
The Spanish league is one of Europe’s football leagues where nothing is yet to be decided. While Barcelona and Real Madrid will do battle for the title, teams like Sevilla, Real Sociedad, Getafe, and Valencia are hoping to book their place for the next Champions League season.
Meanwhile, the red lantern of the table, Espanyol, will be hoping to make a miraculous comeback and secure their spot in the Spanish First Division for another season.
With matched to be played behind closed doors, it’s going to be interesting to see who can take advantage of this unusual situation.
List of remaining fixtures
As of yet, only the fixtures for Matchday 28 and Matchday 29 have been released. However, the president of the Spanish Football Federation, Javier Tebas confirmed that there will be matches every day of the week.
This would allow the season to be over by the 19th of July and would give teams still involved in Champions League and Europa League the time to focus on the competitions in August.

A 2019-20 packed with drama
The Spanish La Liga is one of the most spectacular soccer leagues in the world. After all, it’s home of the famous football rivalry between Real Madrid and Barcelona. And here football fans can still gasp at the magic produced by (arguably) the GOAT – Lionel Messi.
The 2019-20 season is about to bring on one of the closest title battles in recent history. Despite losing Antoine Grieznmann to Barcelona, Atletico Madrid has strengthened their squad significantly. In the pre-season, they’ve trashed their hometown rivals of Real Madrid by no more than 7 goals to 3.
Meanwhile, Los Galacticos’ hopes of winning this season rest on the shoulders of Eden Hazard. Now we just have to wait around and see if the switch from the Premier League will work out for him.
Crown-holders Barcelona has brought in the Dutch wunderkind Frankie de Jong and Antoine Griezmann (amongst others) to win both the UEFA Champions League and the Spanish La Liga. However, everyone knows that it’s Lionel Messi who’ll lead the charge once more for the Catalans.
Your best option for watching La Liga live stream for free
Being one of the best football leagues in the world means fans have plenty of live streaming options to choose from, including some that are free.
For example, people in the UK can watch all the matches live on ITV4 without spending a dime. The service can be accessed from the TVPlayer website.
If you live outside the UK but still want to catch the games, don’t worry. All you have to do is connect to a UK-based CyberGhost VPN server. This way, we’ll hide your IP address and replace it with one from our system.
To the broadcaster, it will look like as if you’re connecting from inside UK’s borders.
How to watch La Liga in the United States
People in the US or American territories can watch La Liga on beIN Sports. But, to access their streams, you need a subscription to fuboTV, SlingTV or a US cable provider.
Here’s what the two services are bringing to the table:
The problem is that SlingTV and fuboTV are also using geo-restrictions. They do not allow access to their service to people located outside the US. But you can still set up your account with them. Just connect to one of our numerous US-based VPN servers, and you’re ready to go.
It’s also worth knowing that you can use these streaming services to watch La Liga on your Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV or Roku as well. Talk about convenience!
