I’ve had issues with V7 (7.3.2.4498), since the Windows 10 October major update. Cyberghost would no longer auto-start or connect properly. I’ve spoken to support and they’ve ended by saying there is a problem that some users have encountered regarding this and to wait until there is a new update from Cyberghost. At the moment, I’m back on version 6. I am encountering issues with V6 where it blocks the Windows App Store and any apps that I’ve got from there that require an internet connection won’t open. It also blocks one of my email addresses (I’ve set an exception for it in CG’s settings).
My question is – how do I find out if there’s been an update to V7.3.2.4498? The only way seems to be uninstall V6, install version 7 and then check the version number. If there’s no update I then need to uninstall (and clean remnants) V7 and reinstall, login etc V6. This involves quite a few steps including deleting devices from my CG account afterwards.
I’ve been a premium user for a number of years and my yearly subscription is due next month. I really don’t believe I’ll be re-subscribing if I’m to be stuck on the old, outdated V6 of Cyberghost that I still encounter issues with. The V7 issues have been occurring since October last year yet I still don’t see a fix. I’d have to say I’d strongly consider leaving Cyberghost for another VPN provider if I can’t get a stable version of your current version working. Is there any update on this being that the person I spoke to in support there stated it’s a known issue?

I’m a premium member and have been happily using cyberghost 6 since it was released. I upgraded to cyberghost 7 but in one day, my connection dropped several times but the killswitch did not activate. I got some weird windows error message each time, with codes that I can’t remember and wwhich were of no help to me. The point is, my cyberghost service stopped and left my internet activities exposed. Not good!
I also tried to switch server whilst connecting to whatismyipaddress.com and lo and behold, whilst switching server, my own actual IP was exposed. Not Good!
I’ve now gone back to cyberghost 6

On Whoer, net I’m showing 3 open ports with a fairly low score for anonymity. What’s up with this?

Hi Dale 🙂
These kind of tests vary from site to site, so the rating you get may change depending on what factors are taken into account.
Some testing websites that also offer their own VPN solutions could also be capping the scores of competing products, causing lower scores and other issues to show.
If possible, try running similar tests on an independent site and see what kind score you get there.
Hope that helps!
up yours

cyberghost privacy hub ask for my opinion, but would not let me post without a name or email address. This is counter to what privacy hub is all about.

Haha, I like your style!
Even though we ask for a name and email (which is down to the platform we use), it does not have to be valid. I ran a test and even fake[at]email[dot]lolz worked to submit a comment.
I have raised your concern with the dev team, though. I’ll see if we can tweak the comment section in some way. 🙂

I am still waiting for version 7 for my Samsung Galaxy S9+. Why has the developer treated this phone as the black-sheep-of-the-family?

Vijay, you should be able to find CyberGhost VPN in the Play Store again.
