Problem: I bought a CyberGhost subscription via Apple's App Store or Google's Play Store and it says it is good for 7 devices, but when I try to use it on my Windows CyberGhost client or a different CyberGhost client for other platforms, it asks for a user name and password, which I don't have.
Solution: iOS and Android subscriptions are solely to be used on up to 7 devices of the respective operating system. If you purchased a subscription for your Apple or Android device through the respective app store it is usable for up to 7 mobile devices bound to the same Apple or Google account you used for purchasing. But you can not:
- Use your Android / iOS subscription on an Android/iOS device running under a different account.
- Use your iOS subscription on a Mac OS, even if you are using the same Apple ID which you used for purchasing the subscription
- Use any mobile CyberGhost subscription with any different operating platforms other than iOS, resp. Android.
With an iOS subscription purchased from the App Store, if you want to use it with a Windows- or Mac-Client or with a native protocol, you will need to purchase a regular CyberGhost subscription, available through our homepage. Regular CyberGhost subscriptions are also good for up to 7 devices (including Windows, Mac OS, Android, iOS, and native protocols), and are not limited to any platform
NOTE : Whilst on Android, you CAN indeed purchase a Cross-Platform subscription for a different price and use that subscription on Android and other Operating Systems (Windows/macOS, iOS), this type of Cross-Platform subscription type is currently not available for in-app subscriptions purchased from your iOS device via the App Store.
