CyberGhost VPN's Transparency Reports
Our quarterly reports show every legal request we receive for user data, along with exactly how we handled them. Thanks to our strict No Logs policy, the answer is always the same: there’s nothing to hand over.
Our Commitment to Privacy
At CyberGhost, transparency is core to how we operate. That’s why we publish regular reports on the legal requests we receive and how we handle them.
Thanks to our strict no-logs policy, we have no user data to hand over, no browsing history, no traffic logs, no IP assignments, and no connection timestamps. We can’t share what we don’t have, by design.
We publish these reports on this page and Privacy Hub every quarter to keep you informed, reinforce our privacy-first practices, and provide visibility into how we respond when authorities come knocking.

Breaking Down the Data
To give you an idea of the types of legal demands we receive, here are the three main categories we track:
DMCA Complaints
We usually receive Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) complaints from various law firms representing production companies. Most often, they indicate that copyrighted material was illegally shared via a CyberGhost IP. We're also provided with details like the timestamp of a torrent or the port used.
Malicious Activity Flags
This category included complaints from website owners or app developers about suspicious behavior being sent from CyberGhost IPs. We stopped reporting on this category after Q2 2024, as it did not reflect formal legal processes and no longer aligned with our reporting framework.
Police Requests
Various law enforcement agencies or police departments can request logs or more information about an IP linked to an investigation or a case. These inquiries usually reach our data center collaborators first, and then get forwarded to us.
