What Is Survivor About?
Survivor is one of the most successful reality shows in TV history. In this epic game of wits and survival, contestants are stranded on an island with scant supplies to compete for a whopping $1 million prize.
The 18 castaways are divided into tribes who battle it out in challenges for rewards (like extra food or luxuries) as well as immunity against being sent home. The losing tribe's members go to the dreaded Tribal Council where they must vote out one of their own.
Two tribes eventually merge into one, at which point older alliances may become treacherous as each contestant fights for themselves. At the final Tribal Council, previously eliminated contestants vote for who they think should win the title of Sole Survivor.
Who Is in the Survivor Cast?
Survivor 47 will welcome a diverse group from across the US. As usual the show will be hosted by Jeff Probst.
The 18 castaways competing for $1 million and the title of Sole Survivor have yet to be announced, with the exception of comedian and podcaster Jon Lovett.
We will update this page with the full cast when the information is available.
When Will Survivor Premiere?
The first episode of Survivor season 47 will air on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at 8 PM ET on CBS. The two-hour premier saw the castaways stranded on a remote island in Fiji.

No. Although Survivor US has the most seasons, many other countries have the show. Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Denmark, France, Greece, Hungary, Italy, New Zealand, Russia, South Africa, Sweden, Turkey, and other countries produce local versions of Survivor (sometimes with variations in the title and format).
There are 46 complete seasons of the US version of Survivor (season 47 will premiere on September 18, 2024) and even more if you count the regional variations of the show. This massive season count should come as no surprise seeing as it’s one of the most popular reality TV shows of all time.
