Our dear Ghosties, today we have some major news to share with you. We’re excited to let you know that CyberGhost VPN underwent an independent audit performed by Deloitte, one of the Big Four global firms, to review our No Logs policy.
It’s been hard keeping the lid on this project for the past months, so we’re thrilled to finally be able to share all the details with you. So let’s dive right in.
Why Did We Ask for this Independent Audit?
We invited Deloitte to inspect our VPN server network and management systems.
The audit was conducted in accordance with the International Standard on Assurance Engagements 3000 (Revised) applicable to Assurance Engagements Other That Audits or Reviews of Historical Financial Information (ISAE 3000 (Revised)) established by the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (“IAASB”) and should be read in full.
What Does A Third-Party Audit Mean For A VPN?Audits reveal if the policies stated by a VPN service provider are, in fact, accurate. To make sure they are impartial, audits have to be performed by an outside team of experts acting as a third party. You can think of them as an independent set of eyes checking the trustworthiness of a VPN.
Because of the extensive nature of the audit and the scope of Deloitte services, excerpts from the report cannot be shared with the audience, in order to ensure none of the audit results are taken out of context and misunderstood.
To read the full report, head to your CyberGhost VPN account. You’ll find it in a dedicated section there. It’s quite an interesting read if we dare say so ourselves.
This Is A Breakthrough In Our Fight for Privacy
With this audit, we have reached a new milestone. However, we have always been dedicated to protecting your privacy. That’s why we’re headquartered in Bucharest, Romania, a country where we are not mandated to keep any logs. Or why we were the first ones in the VPN industry to publish a Transparency Report. That was way back in 2011, but we’ve since made these updates quarterly for added transparency. After all, we’ve spent more than a decade developing and designing a trustworthy VPN and would settle for nothing less.
Our concern for your privacy and stellar user experience pushed us to always set the bar higher and go for big wins. This is what fuels us to support new VPN protocols, release next-generation features on our app, and to provide you with all-in-one solutions for your privacy and security, like our VPN for PC.
If you’re familiar with the world of VPNs, you probably know our Dedicated IPs revolutionized the industry and set new privacy standards. This feature takes a token-based approach, which ensures you are truly anonymous even when opting for a static IP. There’s nothing connecting it to your CyberGhost VPN, so we don’t know who uses what IP address. This shows you we’re big believers in privacy by design principles: we don’t have access to any data that is not vital to the functioning of our VPN.
And that’s not all. If you’re an eagle-eyed Ghostie, you probably noticed we’ve been busy server-side, adding new VPN servers to our fleet and increasing the number of our self-owned ones. As a result, more and more of our locations have servers with a bandwidth of 10Gbps, making them the fastest VPN servers on the market. And they’re ready to cater to your every VPN need, including streaming and gaming.
We don’t plan on slowing down anytime soon.
We’re At Your Service
We’re proud of the audit findings, and we’re honored to be able to give you the peace of mind and the transparency you deserve. This audit, alongside all of our efforts in the last years, shows we are continually innovating and aiming higher in order to build the best VPN service for you.
So thank you, dear Ghosties, for putting your trust in CyberGhost VPN and joining us in our mission to protect digital lives all around the world! It’s a pleasure being at your service.
