CyberGhost VPN joins the global fight against COVID-19

We’re donating to the Coronavirus Relief Fund

Update, March 31, 2020

March is almost over, which means that next month we’ll be transferring the 10% to GlobalGiving as part of our monthly donation.

As promised, we’ll publish the details of the donation report as soon as we’ll receive it. Stay tuned, Ghosties!

Original post

There is no way we can sugarcoat this, Ghosties.

We are currently facing a pandemic that threatens our health, our way of life, and the well-being of our loved ones. Sincere condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones in this terrible crisis. You are in our thoughts.

Now, more than ever, we need to stand united and help those who are our first line of defense.

This is why we’re teaming up with GlobalGiving, a nonprofit that connects donors with grassroots projects around the world, to donate to the Coronavirus Relief Fund.

We’re donating funds through GlobalGiving

Because we want to ease the financial burden of fighting against COVID-19, we’re donating 10% of all purchases made through our website to GlobalGiving.

GlobalGiving has been awarded the highest possible rating by Charity Navigator, BBB Wise Giving Alliance, and GuideStar. All donations will support coronavirus relief and recovery efforts. You can check out a comprehensive FAQ about the initiative on their website.

Here’s the low-down.

      • We’re donating 10% of all sales made on our website, no matter the subscription type.

This includes everything from our monthly plan to our three-year plan.

      • We’re donating 10% of all sales, no matter the payment type.

Yes, we include purchases made with Bitcoin. Even though we do not stack the cryptocurrency, we’ll be exchanging it.

      • We’re donating the funds monthly.

To keep things tidy, we’re making one transaction per month towards GlobalGiving.

      • We’re keeping you updated.

We’ll receive breakdowns on how the money was distributed and to which NGOs in the world. We’re very confident that GlobalGiving will direct the funds to those who need it the most right now. In turn, we’ll be publishing our reports, sharing all the details with you.

And if any of you Ghosties are considering donating, but aren’t sure where to start, here‘s a list of charities fighting against COVID-19 right now. You can also reach out to your local NGOs.

Life at CyberGhost VPN right now

You might not know this, but we’re headquartered in Bucharest, Romania. Like many other nations, we’re currently in a nationwide lockdown.

To do our part and flatten the curb, our team has been working remotely for more than two weeks now. We’re all about #StayAtHome.

During this social distancing times, we’ve tried to soften things up with conversations with our loved ones, good books, chill TV shows, video games, or even learning new languages.

Here are some other things we can recommend:

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, reach out to people. Look for mental health support lines or check out support groups online.

Keep yourself safe and safe indoors these days.

A huge Thank You to our heroes

We want to thank all the doctors, nurses, and all essential personnel out there risking their safety right now.
